Hey Guys, I've been thinking, is there any way we could do something with our points when we have reached a certain amount? For example, for every million, you wynn 100000 or something? or, you wynn something else? what ya think folks? Let us know. I'd be interested too see what ya think. See if we could make this possible. Sazel.

Hey. sounds good to me. Good idea!

I mean, this would give people an insentive too play the games etc, so they would wynn more points, so they'd get the reward.

I agree. Maybe they can be used to buy things in a way, like you can buy a house and buy furniture and stuff for it. I know on that Luv2bablyndi site has a pets feature, but for that, you have to be there everyday to feed it and everything, and for them, the points are based on how many times you post on the boards. But with a house, you could get on whenever you had time and choose the house and buy it and things for it.

I like the virtual house thing. lol but aren't the points just pretty to look at? rotfl

if there weren't peopel who cheated to get points, I would of been willing to sponser something, but I refuse to do that when people easily win points like that

Post 7 by Flidais (WISEST IS SHE WHO KNOWS THAT SHE DOES NOT KNOW) on Sunday, 03-Apr-2005 18:07:30

could you maybe only make the valid points in the games where you can't cheat? like the points from black jack, hi-lo, and blingo?

Post 8 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Sunday, 03-Apr-2005 18:42:56

then we'd simply have to take away points for anagrams all together, and I know that would piss everybody off a lot more then the april fools joke we played on you all!

Post 9 by puppybraille (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Sunday, 03-Apr-2005 19:37:56

Is there any way to figure out who's cheatting and deal with them? Or am I too naive?

I tell you what you have to do. sWe have to do IP tracking. Find out the IP addresses of the people who we think cheat, then deleete there accounts. It may make them mad, but it serves them right. BTW, that was a great joke in my opinion.

Ride man, its not all that simple. I'm not all that sure, but if they don't have the same IP they use to connect, it'll be impossible to block them, deleting their accounts yes, but not blocking the IP of someone who doesn't have one IP they always use.

Post 12 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Monday, 04-Apr-2005 7:01:18

well yeh and it's all very well deleting the account of people you *think* are cheating, but you can't actually prove that they are. i mean different people have different ways of playing the games such as anagrams, yes it is true that some use bots to play the games, but some use say, anagram dictionaries and some don't consider that cheating. you can't delete accounts purely based on assumption.

Post 13 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Monday, 04-Apr-2005 7:37:54

which is why we can't do anything with points. anagrams makes them invalid now. I refuse to go on an anagram cheating witch hunt. people are free to play the games in what ever fashion they choose

Post 14 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Monday, 04-Apr-2005 8:07:25

Liam's right, rightly or wrongly, if people have the need to cheat, well, technically there's not much we can do about it. I personally think it's very sad that someone should feel the need to cheat to gain points which actually are not of any use. If you start offering insentives for points, then you start giving insentives for cheating.

True Guys, it was just a surgestion.

Post 16 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Monday, 04-Apr-2005 10:30:48

aw yeh course and there's nothing wrong with suggestions, that's why we have a suggestion board ... after all no one knows when they're going to come up with an idea that might be a good one - how were the greatest inventions invented after all ..

Post 17 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Monday, 04-Apr-2005 11:02:49

Thing is, we also can't go after some of these cheaters for another reason. Some of them are premium. So, that's another reason that we can't go after them. Afterall, what's more important to our beloved admin then people who are actually willing to pay for cheating on a game? Yea for admin! *2 thumbs up*!
Yeah, right!

Post 18 by Flidais (WISEST IS SHE WHO KNOWS THAT SHE DOES NOT KNOW) on Monday, 04-Apr-2005 15:20:36

but why can't we make two point pools? like all the points you get from anagrams goes into a anagram points pool and all the other game's points go into a general points pool? Just a thought

Post 19 by cuddle_kitten84 (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 12-Apr-2005 9:29:55

also, can't we give points to our friends, say if they don't have any? i was stuck with 0 points once and coudnt't play games like high low where you have to bet.

Post 20 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Tuesday, 12-Apr-2005 9:33:52

well a topic to that effect has already been raised andI think the consensus was that the whole issue of earning points would then go out the window, after all, you wouldn't have to earn them, you could just sting your friends who have lots for some.

Post 21 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Tuesday, 12-Apr-2005 12:47:20

Yeah, no points for friends. That's pretty much been decided!

Post 22 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Tuesday, 12-Apr-2005 12:49:23

As for the 2 pool idea, that's actually a pretty good diea. We'll have to see what we can do about it! Thanks for the suggestion!

Post 23 by gimmerstick (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 25-Apr-2005 22:51:05

I think the earning a virtual pet idea is really cool. And about cheating, maybe certain people are just really good at anagraming. No way to prove if somebody is using a dictionary or wordsmith or whatever, except I guess asking them what certain words mean. If they're cheating they'll know how good they really are at it.

Post 24 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Tuesday, 26-Apr-2005 11:49:44

hmmm, I think when someone has 1 anagram in in one minute, and about 50 like 2 minutes later, yeah, I'd think they're cheating wouldn't you?

Post 25 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Tuesday, 26-Apr-2005 12:24:08

I still fail to see what someone might achieve by cheating. after all, you can only achieve the twice your score in points once a week, anyone can get 10 anagrams and get 100 points, apart from that it's just status, and anyone who feels the need to cheat purely to end up on a status board really should get out more ..

Post 26 by maddog (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Tuesday, 26-Apr-2005 19:04:51

for god sake! Let's drop this now shal we? We'll see what we can do about doing stuff with the points, and when we find something, we'll put a topic in about it, and we'll see what you all think of it. In the meantime, if you don't hear from us about doing anything with the points, it's probably because we don't have anything right now! In the meantime, keep the suggestions coming, and we'll see what we can do about implementing them if they seem reasonable.
